Prof. Peter Folorunsho Adebayo

History & International Studies
Professor Peter Folorunsho Adebayo teaches at the Department of History and International Studies, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Ilorin specialising in Lebanese Diaspora. He was a 2003 Fulbright fellow at the New York University Steinhardt School of Education and in 2005 he became a post-doctoral Codesria Laureate at Notre Dame University, Zouk Lebanon, studying Lebanese–Nigerian returnees which constitute his main research. In 2009 he became the founding President of the African Network of Global History (ANGH). He is currently a prize committee member of the World History Association as well as an Advisory Board of World History Commons. In February 2023 he became a recipient of the World Scholar Travel Grant for the 2023 WHA Conference held in Pittsburgh, June 22—24th. He is currently the Director of the Archives and Documentation Center of the University.
